Lightning is a combative character who enjoys electrocuting people (mostly in BFB), but only specific people, such as Flower. He tended to hang out with rude people and other assassins such as Snowball. He sometimes seems to take orders from others when it comes to who he is supposed to electrocute, and also seems to require clarification in challenges, though he hasn't asked for this since "Why Would You Do This on a Swing?".

Similar to Ice Cube, Lightning often seems to seek validation from others and hates being excluded, as he attempted to befriend Marker and Stapy in "How to Make Teardrop Talk" only to be told no, and was insulted when it took his teammates so long to notice that he was replaced in "What Do You Think About Roleplaying?". He also feels remorse for his own actions, making him slightly more friendly despite electrocuting people on numerous occasions.

Lightning also appears to be nosy and curious, such as in "Don't Dig Straight Down" where he wonders why his team has so many nicknames for Golf Ball, or in the same episode where he doubts that he and the rest of his team will find another emerald.

His reactions and interactions reflect a character who is dealing with personal insecurities, a need for acceptance, and the challenges of teamwork. The emotional responses and interactions, specifically in "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", reveal a character who is not only competitive but also emotionally complex, with feelings of sadness, insecurity, and a desire for acceptance. His initial reluctance to team up with Snowball, despite Snowball's attempt to cheer him up, reflects his complex social interactions and preferences, showing his desire to choose his own team based on his comfort level or personal preferences.

In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", Lightning fails to join the season's roster, receiving only 93 votes. Lightning is thrown into the Losers' Closet.

In "No More Snow!", Lightning makes a cameo where he forms from Cloudy and punches a tree, which falls on Pin and kills him.

In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Lightning appears in LOL. However, he has no dialogue.

In "How to Make Teardrop Talk", Lightning is used by Pencil for the purpose of electrifying the alliance's enemies, the target at the time being Spongy. Match attempts to have Lightning electrocute Flower, but is dissuaded by Bubble and, speaking for the first time, renounces Match and Pencil as maniacs. He would later ask if he could befriend Marker and Stapy, to which the former refuses. This prompts Lightning to electrocute Flower.

As the teams are formed, Snowball chooses Lightning based on his admission of having killed dozens of people, a fact that causes Snowball to view him as powerful. Lightning later advises Snowball to also accept Fanny for her "killing attitude". As Snowball argues with himself, Lightning slowly ascends. Lightning's group merges with Pencil's group when Flower gathers them together to form iance. Lightning attacks Flower once again after she requested to be observed. Lightning also details her team's pronunciation.

Lightning usually asks if Four's challenge was BFB's first challenge, to clarify. Snowball agrees. Throughout the challenge, Lightning, with the rest of his team, simply "jumps" to try and reach a basket. However, after Fanny lashes out at the jump, Pencil orders Lightning to electrocute her. Bubble nearly stops Lightning, but Pencil intimidates her, and Lightning goes ahead and electrocutes Fanny, much to Bubble's dismay. Lightning jumps again, but his team's efforts ultimately fail, and Iance moves on to elimination.

In "Lick Your Way to Freedom", Lightning receives 532 votes for elimination in Cake at Stake, the third lowest amount of votes in Iance, putting him in safety. Recalling the previous episode, Lightning asks Snowball to clarify the goal of the contest.

In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", he faces his third cake up for grabs, and ends up being the other unlucky contestant left out of the race. He deems this "unfair", saying that he stuck to his team's death-prevention pact, which ends up costing them challenges. Enraged, he electrocutes Two and the people in the Yoyle Pit (including his team), and releases a large amount of electricity that hits seven different Goikian landmarks, causing damage to them. Fanny tells him to calm down, and promises to avenge him on behalf of the competition.
