What are Au Ra?
Au Ri creation myth tells of a Dawn Father (Azim) and a Dusk Mother (Nhaama) from whom all Au Ra are descended. They were created by the 2 gods in the likeness of their images to wage war against one another over the dominion of The Steppes which both the gods desired. Eventually the Au Ra got tired of fighting one another, learned to love each other and stopped warring. Seeing this, the 2 gods left them be.
Appearances
The Au Ra are human-like figures with a head, a torso, arms and legs, but they have extra features.
Instead of having ears, they have horns where their ears should be. These horns give them a better sense of hearing and spatial awareness. The styles & shapes of these horns can vary.
They also have tails coming from their lower backs.
They have scales all over their bodies. Some more than others. Some have symmetrical scales on either sides of their bodies, some asymmetrical.
The males also tend to be quite tall, with full-grown mature adult Au Ra males being 6'8 - 7'1, if they were raised correctly & trained at a young age. Whereas the females tend to be 5'6 at largest.
The Au Ra race was made to be fighters so they have a natural affinity for fitness & fighting.
The Au Ra are also quite colorful, as their people can have different eye colors, sclera colors, hair colors, skin colors & scale colors, unlike the colors humans are restricted/limited to.
Homeland
They originated from The Steppes.
Community
The Au Ra don't have a centralized government like a monarchist Kingdom or a republican/democratic Republic. Instead they live in tribes, each one with its own culture & traditions.
Tribes can come and go all the time, either being defeated, annexed or enslaved by another, dying-off or tribes merging together.
Unrelated to dragons
A common mistake people make when gazing upon the Au Ra is that many automatically assume that the Au Ra are descendants of dragons.
This, however, is not the case.
They were made in the images of their deities who had horns, scales and tails.
It's just a coincidence that they look like they are dragon-related.
