Malleus has been described by many students, even among the dorm leaders, as having a powerful aura that repels most people from approaching him. Furthermore, he is also considered one of the five most powerful mages in the world. This, combined with Malleus's altered perception of time as a fae, has resulted in him being left out of most invitations to ceremonies and events.

Malleus himself does not interact closely with other students beyond Lilia, Silver, and Sebek of Diasomnia, who hail from his hometown. This has only resulted in his further isolation. Despite enjoying time alone with his concerned and caring assistants while exploring abandoned buildings, Malleus shows signs of loneliness and a desire to connect normally with others. He is also said to have a naive and childlike side, having grown up isolated from the outside world in Briar Valley. One of the reasons he attends the school is because Lilia is trying to keep him from complete isolation. Although Malleus's knowledge of magic is already far greater than anything he could learn in school, Lilia believes that he still has much to learn and that knowledge isn't everything, and Malleus is also shown to be open to trying new things.

While magic is a natural part of him and his life, he's completely unfamiliar with technology, as Briar Valley only uses technomancy. Because of this, he finds technology complicated and is also impressed by those who understand it.

He also seems protective of the things he holds dear, such as how he has cared for his Tamagotchi for many years and was willing to ask anyone for help fixing it when it stopped working.

Athletics: Malleus can run extremely fast, to the point where he appears as a blur in photos. Strength: Malleus has superhuman strength. He is able to carve rocks with his bare hands. Fire Breathing: Malleus has had the ability to breathe fire since he was a baby. Fly: Malleus has the ability to fly. It's unclear whether he has wings or uses magic to fly. Weather Manipulation: Malleus can consciously and subconsciously change the weather. He was able to cause thunderstorms when deeply upset, and subconsciously cause snow to fall despite it being out of season at the time through his emotions. These effects can also be reversed by himself. He has had this ability since an unspecified age, when he was finally old enough to walk. Magical Mastery: Because Malleus grew up around magic his entire life, he's had many opportunities to practice, to the point where he can use two different elements of magic at once. He also has a vast amount of magic. Whenever he appears or disappears, firefly-like lights appear.

Malleus's unique magic is called When cast, a magical energy field with a border of thorns will surround a specific area and all organic living creatures (i.e. humans, animals, and fairies) within its borders will fall asleep and begin to dream. This energy field can only be brought down by Malleus himself, or when he perishes. This magic is reminiscent of a spell used by the Queen of Thorns and can be classified as a type of ancient magic that allows its user to alter the world within its influence. Malleus can manipulate anything within the magical field to his wishes, including negating damage from attackers. Though time can be stopped within this field, because the flow of time outside continues as usual

Malleus is a considerably tall young man with pale skin. He has cool black hair that is mostly cut to a medium length, with long bangs and two longer sections of hair on his sides that fall over his shoulders. He also has a small cowlick on top of his head. The lower tips of his hair fade into a dark turquoise color. He has bright green eyes with vertically slitted pupils and long eyelashes. His lips are a slightly darker color than his skin, and he usually wears what appears to be subtle dark eyeshadow.

His most unique features are his pointy, elf-like ears and the long, black horns on top of his head. His horns are covered with small ridges and curve backward in an S shape. His sharp fangs are revealed when his mouth is open. He is often seen with a serious expression or a mysterious smile. Malleus uses a special pillow because of his horns.

As a house attendant, Malleus's dorm uniform differs slightly from the rest of the Diasomnia students, the most distinctive features being his longer coat, longer gloves, and ragged cape. Malleus also wears dark green eyeshadow while in his dorm uniform. The uniform consists of a black all-weather coat with neon green and silver accents, black suspenders and combat belts, jodhpur pants, black gloves, knee-high heeled boots, and a small garrison cap.

The all-weather coat has asymmetrical colored lapels, one black and the other neon green. Both lapels have silver straps and buttons. Two silver zippers run down the center of the coat, lined with neon green stripes. While the average uniform coat reaches below the waist, Malleus's coat is waist-length on the right side and below the knee on the left. The underlining of the coat is neon green.

Over the coat and above the waist are a set of black belts with silver buckles. The lowest belt hangs at an angle and connects to several silver spools of thread on his left hip. Between the belt and the spools is a silver ornament, shaped like a spinning wheel. The black combat suspenders worn over the belts have silver buttons and a single cuff around the right arm that resembles a dragon's wing. Malleus also wears a wide black collar around his neck with a ridged design similar to the shoulder cuff.

The jodhpurs are black with neon green stripes running down the outer seams, and the knee-high boots are black with neon green soles. The Malleus's heels are slightly higher than those of the average uniform. The garrison cap is black with neon green trim.

Malleus was born and raised in Briar Valley. During his childhood, his caregiver was Lilia.

According to Lilia, Malleus burned Lilia's bangs when he breathed fire as a baby. She also mentions that Malleus had an eggshell on his face when he was young, implying that he was born from a dragon egg.

Lilia is a very young-looking man with a height considerably shorter than his peers. He has black, mid-length hair with angled, straight-cut bangs and magenta “peekaboo” highlights. Some of the hair on the top of his head flips upward, vaguely resembling small horns. His eyes are deep red, with vertical-slit pupils and long eyelashes. He has pointed, elf-like ears, as well as small fangs. He usually has a wise, benevolent smile on his face.)

Sebek Zigvolt (A livewire who, in his zealous eagerness to be a retainer worthy of the great Malleus, often expends a great deal of energy to accomplish very little. He views his fellow countryman Silver as a rival. Sebek is a tall boy with fair skin. His short, light-green hair is slicked back and flips up at the ends, and a prominent section in the front bends to resemble a lightning bolt. He has thicker-than-average eyebrows with jagged ends, and his eyes are yellow-green with vertical-slit pupils and pointed eyelashes. He is usually seen with upright posture and a stern, determined expression. When his mouth is open, sharp fangs are visible.) Silver is a second-year student in Diasomnia who protects Malleus as an escort. He is the adopted son of Lilia Vanrouge. Although he is usually taciturn and serene, occasionally he seems to be very sleepy.Silver is a young man with silver gray hair and bangs with a lost lock of hair sticking out of his head. He has light skin and muscular arms due to his sword training. He wears his school uniform with the top button unbuttoned.

Lilia mentions that Malleus's appearance resembles that of Levan (father) with the horns of Malleanor/Mallenoa (mother). According to Lilia, Malleus is kind like Levan (her father). While still in his egg, his mother (Meleanor) sang him a lullaby, a song that Lilia also sang to him before he was born. Malleus still remembers that song and hums it from time to time, since he doesn't know the words and doesn't know where he heard it from.

Malleus is currently 178 years old, divided by 10 human years, he's 17.8 technically rounding off to 18 years old. Which is just accurate enough for both his mind and body + his currently year in nrc. So he's basically 18 years old.
