Jim is portrayed as the typical bad-boy at the beginning of his career as a sailor, and before he was a space cadet. Before he was much more of an edgy kid who felt indifferent, annoyed and wanted to do things on his own. As his adventure progressed he became more likeable and his golden heart was more evident, something his mother emphasized about him when he was a child. Jim has always been a very intelligent and innovative kid. He is honest and loves his own adrenaline. But still the responsibility does not leave him alone.

Jim has dark brown hair and blue eyes. His signature hairstyle is a layered tape fade, and a rat-tail. He is about 5'7 feet tall, and his skin is somewhat dark. He has a small scar on his cheek, and a gold earring in his left ear. His body is somewhat average and masculine, and he is not as expressive depending on the person and situation.

Although Jim tends to be a bit playful with him, he doesn't take it too seriously. Sarah Hawkins: She's her mother, she loves her too much. Although her rebellion was due to the feeling of guilt she felt for her father's departure. Kate: Academic rival, also a colleague in her work as a space cadet.
