Puzzles takes the form of an adware, heavily inspired by BonziBuddy and other Internet virtual assistants; for its debut, it was simply a dark gray analog television with googly eyes and a cartoon smile.

Physically, Mr. Puzzles is a tall, thin humanoid, with a 1950s/60s gray television box head that is identical to his adware form, minus his face. His real face is a static white background with different shaped eyes, one large and one small, along with a large smile that takes up most of the lower part of his face. His tooth colors, which are yellow, cyan, lime green, pink, red and blue, are intended to resemble the color bars on a television. Although his face is depicted as a screen, it is implied that his face is actually behind it. which is an entertainment streaming service platform owned by him. He wears a black bowler hat with a gray band on his head, from which two television antennas protrude, although one is bent. He wears a gray vest with a white t-shirt and a black bow tie, as well as elongated four-fingered white rubber gloves and black and white dress shoes. His pants are dark gray, with silver puzzle patterns, his pants also come with suspenders with gray puzzle pieces as buttons. His pants are also a little short and his thin black legs are visible if one looks closer.

When he was a child, his appearance was identical to Ness. His body was shown as a silhouette with glowing white eyes.
