Creeper

Creepers are deadly, usually green, hostile creatures that silently approach players and explode once they get within 3 blocks of their targets. Due to their distinctive appearance and high potential to kill unwary players, as well as damage the environment and player buildings, creepers have become one of the icons of Minecraft, notorious among players and non-players alike. Using a bow is the easiest way to kill a creeper without it exploding.

Creepers are an important source of gunpowder as well as the only way to obtain more music discs. When struck by lightning, a creeper becomes electrically charged, which substantially amplifies its blast power and allows creature heads to be obtained. Behavior

Creepers chase any player within a 16 block radius (±5%) and ±4 blocks vertically. Creeper detection range is reduced to 8 blocks when the player is wearing a creeper mob head.‌[Java Edition only]

When within three blocks of a player, a creeper will stop moving, hiss, flash, and expand, then explode after 1.5 seconds. A creeper's detonation can be interrupted if the player leaves the 7-block explosion radius (including knocking the creeper back) or disappears from the creeper's sight, or if the creeper is killed before the explosion.

A creeper can jump to a player if it survives the fall. Creepers start their 1.5 second explosion animation before falling, so an explosion occurs sooner after landing with higher falls.

Creepers can climb ladders and vines like any other creature, but they do not do so intentionally.

Creepers can be forced to explode using a flintlock.

Creepers flee from ocelots and cats within six blocks of them. A creeper that has initiated its detonation does not flee unless the player leaves its blast radius.

Regular creeper explosions have a strength of 3.

If a creeper is inflicted with a status effect, its explosion creates an area-of-effect cloud.‌[Java Edition only]

Unlike other mobs, creepers are not attacked by tamed wolves, iron golems, or zoglins. However, they are still attacked by withers, snow golems, and vindicators named "Johnny". When hit by a stray projectile, a creeper retaliates if it is not already chasing a player.

Electric Creeper

A charged creeper is created only when lightning strikes within 4 blocks of a normal creeper or when struck by a trident with the Conductivity enchantment during a thunderstorm, which significantly increases its explosive power. Charged creepers are distinguished from normal creepers by the blue aura surrounding them.

The countdown timers are the same as those of regular creepers, both in terms of range and duration. At a power of 6, an explosion caused by a lightning creeper is twice as powerful as an explosion caused by a regular creeper (see image). Lightning creeper explosions are 50% more powerful than a TNT explosion. How close the creeper was to the beam does not affect the size of the explosion.

Powered creepers have the same entity ID as normal creepers. The only difference is that the value of the boolean tag "powered" is set to "1" (true).

Explosions from electric creepers that kill zombies, skeletons, wither skeletons, or other creepers cause one of those mobs to drop the corresponding mob head. They do not drop their own head. Players or ender dragons do not drop their own head, nor do mobs without corresponding mob heads.

Creepers are afraid of cats because of an experience lived by an ancestor creeper (to be more precise the first of them) who lived in the ice age, he was hunting for his cubs when he encountered a feline, the saber-toothed tiger and then they started to fight and the creeper lost so he looked at his cubs and said: tsssts which translated is: save yourselves, being a traumatic experience for the cubs they began to fear felines. As they grew up they had more cubs who inherited this fear and passed it on from generation to generation until the current generation.
