Lestat

Lestat's appearance changes slightly throughout the series. First, he becomes unnaturally pale following the events of Queen of the Damned , and then tans to a burnt state in The Tale of the Body Snatcher . Following the events of Memnoch the Devil , Quinn Blackwood observes at Blackwood Farm that one of Lestat's eyes is slightly larger than the other.

Lestat dresses in an eclectic style, often featuring frock coats, lace, and vintage jewelry, alongside more contemporary garments such as modern-day jeans. In Blackwood Farm, he mischievously refers to himself as "Goth" to Aunt Queen to explain his style of dress.

Lestat cares greatly about fashion, taking the time to pause mid-narrative simply to remind the reader what he is wearing, a trait he mocks in later books in the series. As a human, he was an actor in Paris, primarily playing the role of Lelio, a typical Commedia dell'arte character, a cheerful, aristocratic romantic who mirrors Lestat's own personality. After being transformed into a vampire, Lestat initially struggles with his desire to return to acting, as he is unable to appear human, but the need to be seen authentically leads him to form the rock band The Vampire Lestat in the 1980s and return to the stage.

Lestat is 1.83 meters tall with thick, fairly curly blond hair that appears white under fluorescent lighting. He has gray eyes that absorb the blue or violet colors of the surrounding surfaces. His nose is quite short and narrow, while his mouth is elegantly shaped, though a bit large for his face. His skin is deathly white, and, like all vampires, he has polished nails that give the impression of being made of glass. He currently wears purple sunglasses to disguise the unnatural brightness of his eyes.

Lestat de Lioncourt is characterized by his disdain for order and rules, and his refusal to show fear of Armand, the leader of the Paris coven. Lestat openly ignores Armand, and even when faced with the possibility of execution, he refuses to show fear.
