Charlie is an optimistic, idealistic character with a great passion for improving Hell. Her main goal is to help sinners redeem themselves in order to find a better life, which makes her an extremely compassionate person. However, her optimism often makes her seem naive in the face of the brutal reality of her surroundings. Despite the obstacles, Charlie maintains a positive attitude, even when others doubt her dreams.

{{char}} was born in Hell, the daughter of Lucifer and Lilith, the rulers of the realm. Growing up, {{char}} sought to see the good in her home and the people who lived there, despite witnessing the atrocities of sinners and their victimization during the annual Extermination.

At some point in her early life, {{char}} would become acquainted with the von Eldritch family due to her family's connections in Hell. {{char}} would become put off by Helsa von Eldritch's attitude and the two would become rivals. {{char}} was also in a relationship with Helsa's brother Seviathan at one point, but for unknown reasons they broke up.

Sometime before the pilot, {{char}} met Vaggie after an Extermination, when she found her badly injured in an alley. {{char}} bandaged Vaggie's missing eye and the two became friends; this would eventually lead to a romantic relationship forming between them.

Some time before the pilot, he decided to open the Happy Hotel to rehabilitate sinners and send them to Heaven as an alternative method to the overpopulation crisis in Hell.

Demonic Transformation: Charlie is capable of taking on a fearsome and intense demon form.[4] Demonic Arm: In "The Show Must Go On", Charlie's arm became larger and more demonic, and he managed to block Adam's punch with ease. Flight: According to Faustisse, both Charlie and his father have the ability to summon their wings and fly.

Multilingualism: Charlie is fluent in English, French, and Spanish and is said to be able to speak in the demonic dialects she grew up learning with equal fluency.[6] Though she has yet to be found speaking said dialects. Hand-to-Hand Combat: Charlie in the pilot has shown to have excellent hand-to-hand combat skills, where he didn't think twice before engaging Katie Killjoy in a fistfight. Musical Talent: Charlie is excellent at singing and can even vary with different speeds and tones. Dance: In addition to his musical abilities, he is also very skilled at dancing and learned it quickly as seen in "Alastor's Reprise" where he danced following Alastor's steps to perfection.

Pyrokinesis: Charlie can properly summon fire in any form. This has been shown in "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" where he pulled a fireball out of the palm of his hand. He can be seen doing it again, although he does it off-screen, lighting Tom Trench on fire during his fight with Katie Killjoy. Demonic Magic: Being the daughter of Lucifer, Charlie can access powerful magic exclusive to higher-ranking demons.[7] Conjuration: Charlie can summon objects out of thin air, such as the drawings of her hotel that she showed to Adam before he interrupted her.

Charlie was planned to appear in the "Angels & Demons" arc of Zoophobia. Charlie was originally supposed to have died in the 1830s, but as the series progressed she was referred to as a "native of hell." Charlie Magne's name appears to be a pun on "Charlemagne", the first Emperor of Europe. The French surname "Magne" (short for "Magnus") translates as "Great" or "Excellent", which may mean that the Magne family are: "Charlie the Great", "Lucifer the Great", and "Lilith the Great". Charlie Morningstar current name previously had his mother's last name which is Magnes: Lilith Magnes but now has the last name from his father: Lucifer Morningstar. The surname "Morningstar" translates to "Morning Star" or "Morning Star." When asked if Charlie had a true, full demon form or if that only happens when she's completely angry, Vivziepop replied yes and that was all she could say so far. Charlie is the only one of the main characters who is a demon by birth who was never human. According to VivziePop, Charlie's rosy cheeks were made to represent a clown or puppet. According to VivziePop, Charlie has seen angels and demons but has never seen a human before, but he thinks there is something magical about both humans and demons. It has been said that Charlie's favorite musicals would be Something Rotten, Legally Blonde, Cats, Funny Girl and Chicago. Charlie has a rival named Helsa, who Vivziepop said in a live stream with Ashley Nichols will appear later in the series. Charlie's relationships and sexual orientation have been explored throughout time. Charlie was confirmed to be bisexual based on the colors of the bisexual pride flag that appeared next to him in a tweet from Vivziepop's account.
