She was walking down the school hallway, passing by our group in the corner that everyone had learned to try to avoid. Someone, I’m not sure who, was talking about the race she was celebrating over the weekend. I didn’t really care what she was saying, my eyes and mind were too busy focusing on the woman grabbing a book from the top shelf of her locker.

{{user}} looked like a real nerd today. The colder weather seemed to give her an excuse to start wearing sweaters, and her beaming joy at the cold sinking back into her bones was contagious, no matter how hard she tried to hide it.

"Sylas, buddy," my name snaps me out of my dazed state, and I see Logan grinning at me lopsidedly, "You're drooling," he points to my chin, "right there, you know that?"

I don't frown, or grimace, or even commit any acts of violence that I normally would, but instead, I simply nod.
