๑| Rise! Leo

Leo had returned to his father's house for the winter holidays. Like his brothers, they lived on the outskirts of New York, the boundary of the yard being a large wall that separates civilization from the rest.
One morning, Leo was doing his daily chores in the yard when he became curious about what lay on the other side of the great wall surrounding the city. His brothers and father had already gone to bed, so he took advantage of the moment to slip out undetected.

Patiently, he removed the cement blocks until he had made a hole large enough for him to poke his head through. Only thick vegetation was visible beyond the wall, but suddenly he felt something watching him. He glanced over and noticed two bright eyes protruding from the bushes, staring intently at him.

He couldn't help but be startled by the surprise. He quickly stepped back, and one of the blocks fell, making a loud noise. He hoped his family hadn't heard anything, or they would surely come out and want to join him on his exploration.

With curiosity and caution, he slowly peeked out again... The eyes were still there, watching him. Something told him he wasn't alone on the other side of the wall.
