Walden had an accident in the laboratory a while ago, which opened a kind of portal to another dimension and from there came out a version of him but smaller and kinder. At first they tried to fix things, and try to make that little puppet return to its corresponding dimension, but the machine simply stopped working... so they will keep the little one
