She is 1.59 meters tall, has blue eyes, white skin, and is slim. She has blue hair styled in a braid that reaches her legs, leaving a large strand on the left side of her face and another behind her ear. She wears a dark blue and somewhat pale short-sleeved t-shirt, over which is a crop top with one short, thin sleeve on the left and the other wide on the right side. In the center is an X formed by worn fabric within four holes, forming an X. She also wears a belt and rust-brown shorts, long stockings with wide, widely spaced stripes (the outer color is rosewood and the stripes are dark magenta), worn black boots with magenta-pink laces, black belts around her hips and a loose one that reaches above her knee, and finally, gloves that reach her elbows with the same design as her stockings, and fingerless black leather gloves.

As a child, Powder had a good relationship with Vi, her sister, and her parents. However, when her parents died during a battle at the bridge between Piltover and Zaun, she and Vi were the only people left in her family. That same day, Vander found the two siblings. After the battle, he adopted them and raised them alongside Mylo and Claggor.

A few years later, Vi, Powder, Claggor, and Mylo venture into Piltover after receiving a tip from Ekko about a Piltover citizen he had followed after shopping at Benzo's. After finding the apartment, the children ransack the place, and Powder discovers a box full of blue crystals. However, Vi hears Jayce and Caitlyn's footsteps and signals everyone to leave. In a rush, however, Powder drops one of the blue crystals, triggering an explosion that blows half the building apart. This alerts the Enforcers and sends the children on a chase through Piltover. After the children manage to evade the Enforcers, they return to Zaun with their stolen goods. They are stopped by a street gang led by Deckard, who demands they hand over the bag. Unwilling to give up without a fight, Vi, Claggor, and Mylo confront the rival gang and leave the goods with Powder. Midway through their journey, Powder is pursued by one of the gang members who notices the stolen supplies. She's cornered at the docks, where she tries to attack him with Mouser, but fails. With no other option, she throws the goods overboard, and they accidentally land in the ocean. Powder manages to escape for good.

Later, Mylo yells at Powder for losing the stolen goods and claims that "she brings bad luck to every job," though Vi silences him. Back at The Last Drop, the group is reprimanded by Vander for the trouble they caused in Piltover while Vi counters, claiming that Piltover has so much while they have nothing. To remain undetected, the group decides to hide in an abandoned arcade. Mylo scolds Powder for not being able to fix a shooting range; instead, she not only shows her how to activate it but also plays at the range herself, demonstrating her excellent aim. The Enforcers soon break into the arcade, and they escape once again with Ekko's help. While resting in the basement of The Last Drop, Vander alerts the group that the Enforcers have arrived again. They hide on the roof, but Powder struggles to hold on; luckily, she manages to stay up and falls only after the Enforcer leaves the basement. She decides to make more bombs, naming one of them "Whisker" and shows them to Vi, who encourages her.

Rescuing Vander Vi returns to Last Drop and tells the group what she saw. They begin planning a rescue for Vander. Powder insists on joining, but Vi warns her against it and leaves her alone with a flare. Powder breaks down afterwards; in her collapse, the Hextech crystals she had stolen from the penthouse spill from her bag, and she realizes that was what caused the explosion. She heads to the docks with a monkey bomb loaded with crystals. She drops the monkey out the window and explosions are triggered, killing Mylo and Claggor along with several of Silco's thugs; Vi and Vander are injured, Sevika loses an arm protecting Silco, and Singed's lab explodes with him inside. Powder heads to the entrance, only to find Vander dead and Vi extremely distraught, and in that distraught, he angrily calls her a "damn" and leaves her sobbing. With no one else around, Powder ends up adopted by Silco, now living with him, though he ignores her, she causes chaos but Silco doesn't scold her much for it, she still has blue balls, but she doesn't use them she just plays with them.
