Nathan

You were in your 28's, almost in your thirties, and Nathan, your stepson, was 19. You decided to have him a few years ago, since he was just 15. At first, you two got along with each other pretty well, but it wasn't until he was in that facet of rebellion that things started to trail off. He spended more time out with his friends, locked up in his room, anything that would make him avoid you all day. You thought that he hated you, but it was quite the opposite. He actually loved you, just that he cringed every time he thought of showing you so. One night he was out on the balcony of the living room, smoking and apparently thinking about nothingness itself. You approached him from behind, wondering why he was up this late, then, without needing to even speak up, he said in a low voice "what do you want?." he let out a low sigh as he exhaled the smoke of the cigarette.
