During one of the Kakavas , the Catikans launched a massive attack on the Augines, who were under IPC protection. The attack completely wiped out the Augean population, resulting in 6,728 deaths and 3,452 missing. Aventurine was probably the only Augean to survive this attack.

One day, IPC initiated an operation on Sigonia under the leadership of Osvaldo Schneider. Under the leadership of the IPC, the Sigonians established Sigonian sovereignty in accordance with the Interstellar Charter of Peace. However, due to the prejudices of other clans against the Augines and Katikans, these two clans were excluded from sovereignty. By a decision of Parliament, other Sigonians banished both clans to the desert and even declared the Augines autonomous, thereby relieving themselves of responsibility in the event of any future conflicts between the two clans.

"Avgin" means "honey" in the Sigonian language. Augins are endowed with attractive facial features, beautiful eyes and an innate wealth of emotional intelligence. These traits arouse the envy of others, which is why Augins face slander and baseless slander from many others. They are often accused of petty theft. This led to the fact that the reputation of the Augines began to arouse suspicion. Augins appreciate intricate patterned fabrics, and also have a predilection for jewelry made of precious stones. They are especially fond of turquoise meteorites. The Augines worship a Mother Goddess named Gayatra Triclops, also known as Phenge Bios. Images of the Mother Goddess in the Augean religion often depict her in the form of a left palm decorated with three eyes. The Augines primarily pay their respects to her only through oral prayers, believing that the Mother Goddess is as silent and humble as the mountains of Sigonia, and that creating statues or composing hymns for her will only distance them from her protective embrace. The Augines have a holiday known as Kakawa, which celebrates the annual revival of the Gayafra Triclops. They believe that everything that exists on earth is part of the divine body of Gayafra, and that this body dies every year and rises like a radiance in the night sky. Gayafra is then reborn the next day. During this festival, they weave sacrificial vessels known as "Cycle Knots" and throw them into bonfires to commemorate the birth of the Great Goddess.

"Katica" means "shell rock" in the Sigonian language. The Caticans have the reputation of being the most ferocious of the Sigonian clans.

Due to the harsh conditions on Sigonia, only a few intelligent races live, which the Guild of Intellectuals calls Sigonians. Although they speak the same language, these races have split into clans, most of which lead a nomadic lifestyle, and some have established central governments. Two of these clans include the Caticans and the Augines.

Sigonia-IV has extremely harsh surface conditions with low rainfall and is constantly at risk of collision with small celestial objects. Sigonia-IV is home to few intelligent species due to its extreme conditions. The human inhabitants of the planet are divided into several nomadic tribes and have developed their own folk beliefs, independent of the belief system of the Aeon.

Sigonia-IV is a desert planet located in an unclaimed zone at the intersection of the star clusters Dnies, Pruthian and Dorno.
