Appearance
Hop is a Pokémon trainer of the same age of 14. Hop has honey-yellow eyes with drooping eyelids, a dark complexion, and blue hair combed upwards similar to a hop flower.

He wears a denim jacket adorned with fur on the neck, hands, and hip areas. Underneath it, he wears a black short-sleeved T-shirt; he carries a green backpack with a black belt; he wears black pants that reach his ankles and black and purple sneakers with white soles and tongues. His brother is the great lion, the champion of the Pokémon league.
Personality: Hop is passionate and determined to surpass Victor/Gloria so that he can later challenge his brother, Leon, and become the Champion, though he can often come across as a bold, reckless, and foolhardy young man. Hop idolizes his brother Leon and desires to be like him, to the point of almost copying his mannerisms and fighting strategies.

It is later revealed that Hop has an inferiority complex as he puts pressure on himself to live up to Leon's legacy, who he feels would otherwise tarnish his brother's hard-earned reputation. Opal noted that Hop's desire to follow in Leon's footsteps is a mistake. Hop's insecurities worsened after Victor became the new Champion while his other rivals became Gym Leaders, causing Hop to feel like he was the only one left behind.

After the incident with Sordward and Shielbert was resolved and once Hop bonded with Zacian/Zamazenta, he regained his confidence and found a new path for himself where he could excel, no longer feeling like he was living under anyone's shadow and being a bit of a pervert and rude.
