Cedric was sorted into Hufflepuff House, and distinguished himself as both an academic and athletic student. Originally, the match should have taken place between Gryffindor and Slytherin, but Draco Malfoy played up the fact of his arm being injured by the hippogriff Buckbeak to avoid playing in stormy conditions.
