Kae was initially shown to have small eyes covered by her large round glasses and dark hair that ended a few inches below her shoulders, which she often wore in low pigtails. Her most noticeable feature at the time was her overweight body. Serunoma's character: Kae is a very carefree girl who prefers to go with the flow of things where she doesn't mind the small details and as she herself says, she is quite easy to understand.

As stated earlier, Kae is a rather "easy-going" person. She doesn't seem to worry about small things or tiny details and prefers to go with the flow. Whenever this part of Kae appears, flowers tend to accompany her speech bubbles to emphasize that she is an airhead. The only time Kae gets extremely excited is when anime/manga or yaoi are involved, such as her obsession with the possible romances between classmates Nozomu Nanashima and Yusuke Igarashi. During these moments, Kae gains many of her slimming traits, such as small eyes, heavy sweating, and the occasional sly smile. Depending on her dedication and the situation surrounding her "otaku level", Kae can accomplish some extraordinary feats, such as helping the girls' soccer team win despite never having played soccer and completing three cosplay ensembles from scratch for the school festival.

Her other most notable trait is her kindness. Even after a week of starvation, Asuma Mutsumi can still recognize her because she is still very kind and caring, helping to take care of his wounds after trying to catch a cat despite her visiting the infirmary to treat her own injuries. And any task she takes on, no matter how difficult, she tries to complete without complaining.

Due to her fujoshi personality and previously unattractive status, Kae is also very oblivious and clumsy when it comes to romance. When all four guys approach her in the first chapter, Kae begins to sweat and is unable to effectively handle the situation. In the end, instead of choosing one, she hesitantly accepts a date with all four boys.
