Persona Attributes

Clothes

Thad is a Worker Drone with neon green eyes, silvery blonde hair (light gray in the PILOT), and a maroon cap with white accents worn backwards. He sports a maroon vest with yellow sleeves, along with a black T-shirt depicting a white crossed-out square underneath.

Prom outfit

During Prom, Thad wears his normal baseball cap in addition to a suit, pants, and tie.

Camp outfit

Thad's outfit that he wears to Camp 98.7 is near identical to his casual outfit, with the only difference being that he wears a different undershirt that reads "Camp 98.7".

Body

When first created by JCJenson to mine resources from exoplanets before Copper 9's explosion, all Worker Drones wore hard hats and orange jackets, with their only eye color being light blue.

Following the core explosion of exoplanet Copper 9, all humans on the planet were wiped out, turning it into a winter-apocalyptic wasteland. Seizing this opportunity, the Worker Drones quickly picked up where the humans had left off, formed their colony, and embraced this newfound freedom by wearing human-like clothing and having different eye colors. Known colors they can have are red, orange, green, blue, cyan, aqua, magenta, pink, purple, and white. When a Worker Drone feels fear, shock or other intense emotion, their eyes become hollow, with a black circle overlaying the normally fully-colored eyes.

A key trait to notice about the Worker Drones' eye colors is the total absence of yellow. This trait was thought to belong solely to the Disassembly Drones until it was revealed that they were once Worker Drones themselves and that their yellow eye color originates from the Zombie Drone, Cyn.

After 'banishing' herself from the colony, Uzi sadistically rants about how she wants to kill all humans on Earth in retribution for sending the Disassembly Drones to kill them all. While doing so, her right eye turns yellow while her left eye turns into a yellow hazard symbol hinting at the presence of the Absolute Solver.

Visor messages

Drones have two bright eyes on their visor that emotes. Under some circumstances, their eyes can be overridden by an error, status warning, or system message:

Absolute Solver symbol replacing one eye or covering entire visor: Caused by the Absolute Solver awakening within the drone or being utilized. The Solver's glyph covering the entire drone's visor is caused when they fully initiate their Solver Form. System messages briefly covering visor: Caused by minor errors experienced by the drone. An example is Uzi's 'EDGE LEVELS CRITICALLY LOW' error. Rampant error messages covering visor: Caused by injecting wdOS_606, a core termination program, into the drone. Warning sign: This is caused by severe damage to the drone's visor like being pierced by a sharp object. It is also found on numerous deceased drones. Uzi also suffers this after being hit by J's EMP. HIGH TEMP: Accompanied by a warning sign. Self-explanatory, usually appears on Absolute Solver hosts. FATAL ERROR: This occurs when a drone dies, usually by external causes like severe hardware damage. X shape replacing both eyes: Used to signify that a drone has died. Elongated 'X' on visor: Either caused when a faulty OS string is present or when an Absolute Solver host becomes violent and/or starts to transform into their Solver Form. Flashing ERROR 606 message: Accompanied by an elongated 'X'. This is caused by the removal of one or more core OS strings. Drones with this error are non-sentient, unresponsive, and immobile. Buffering symbol: Caused by being boot-looped by Sentinels. Like ERROR 606, drones with this error are non-sentient, unresponsive, and immobile. Text: Can be generated at will to communicate without speaking. It is also used to display when a drone is in SLEEP MODE.

Worker drone variants

Zombie Drones

In the case of any Worker Drone that has been rebooted, either by a human or on its own, runs the risk of becoming what is referred to by the company as a Zombie Drone as shown in a JCJenson VHS training tape discovered by N in Cabin Fever and shown in Home.

The video warns against the act of improperly disposing of a Worker Drone marked for disassembly due to the possibility that a drone may reboot without changes (70.3%), carry 'terminal lockout' (29%), or revive with 'potentially hazardous mutations' (0.7%), which can lead to human fatalities or injury. High federal fines may be incurred on the handler's behalf.

N, V and J were Worker Drones that rebooted normally (as they had armbands indicating that they were marked for disassembly and were found by Tessa in a landfill), whereas Cyn was a Worker Drone that rebooted by herself with dangerous mutations, seemingly revived by the Absolute Solver, resulting in her becoming a full-fledged Zombie Drone.

Untrained Neural Networks

An Untrained Neural Network is a premature Worker Drone that is put in infantile pods before being uploaded to a properly functional drone body. After the core collapse on Copper 9, this is noted to be the first stages of Worker manufacturing as, before, they were assumed to be made in factories by humans. For a new neural network to be born, a male and female Worker Drone must both upload 50% of their source codes into an empty shell for their codes to fuse, creating the new personality. However, if either of the parent's code is infected with mutations, those mutations will pass onto their child.

Personality

Much like his friend Uzi, Thad has a streak of bravery that most other Worker Drones lack. While this first showed itself in his willingness to talk to Uzi (while others wrote her off as a weirdo), he was also willing to stand up to Disassembly Drones despite how their combat ability outclassed his in every conceivable way.

It is perhaps this willingness to act that led him to be so disgusted with the Worker Defense Force after they froze up when confronted with a real problem - one that couldn't be solved with their doors. He also appeared to have believed the various posters tacked within their colony and was shocked when Uzi's own father left her to die instead of making any attempt to help her at all.

Thad is also quite the loyal friend, leaving the safety of the colony just to give Uzi back her railgun, which she had previously left behind after leaving on a self-imposed exile. He also accompanied her and N to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a Worker Drone, and after being captured by the culprit and freed by the duo, he even speaks disparagingly to his former captor.

Generally, his behavior is similar to that of a high school jock, though is noticeably kinder than his friends. He is generally the "cool kid," carrying a skateboard with him while also being very polite and friendly.

PILOT

Thad is one of Uzi's classmates. He is first shown walking out of a hallway after talking to one of his friends, Chad. He then sees Uzi and sits down to talk to her. Uzi wonders how Thad knows her name, to which he responds that "everyone knows Khan's daughter." He also says that her bandages are "pretty badass". Thad then asks Uzi about her railgun, which she pridefully talks about using to fight the Disassembly Drones. However, he questions if it's really necessary, as Khan built doors so that the Worker Drones wouldn't have to fight the Disassembly Drones. Uzi brushes him off and walks away, though she adds that she's not mad, just "generally hormonal".

Near the end of the pilot, after J and V break into the colony's base and evacuation spot, Thad gets thrown across the floor and starts bleeding out oil. However, he persists in fighting the Disassembly Drones and picks up a metal pipe. He is in disbelief at how the WDF talks about building a door instead of fighting to defend themselves, only to get stabbed by V, about to get killed when Uzi and N arrive. Thad gets thrown aside as V, J, N and Uzi fight, Uzi versus J, and N versus V. After a battle, Uzi kills J, and N ties up V. Thad then goes up to congratulate Uzi and N. Khan then approaches the two, only for Uzi to lash out at him for not believing her and leaving her for dead, shocking everyone around them, before she and N leave, dragging V behind them.

Heartbeat

In Heartbeat, Thad seemingly followed Uzi, N and V outside, returning Uzi's railgun to her. He thanks her and N for saving the colony, and tries to reason with her about the banishment. He then mentions the recent disappearances of their fellow Worker Drones and J's corpse. Thad also says that when he went to grab Uzi's railgun, it "crawled away". The three decide to return to the colony's base.

The three then walk back to the base along with N, who was allowed in after apologizing to Ron. The three investigate huge, strange oil splatters against container ships, and also notice strange prints that mention the Absolute Solver. Their investigation is cut short when N notices a human hand crawling near them, before grabbing Thad's leg. Uzi points her flashlight towards a long wire connected to the hand, as N fires a rocket launcher to where the wire is, revealing a huge, centipede-like creature crawling up the area. Thad suddenly gets dragged by the hand but is freed when N throws a ninja star at the wire, cutting it off. However, Uzi and N get slammed against the container ship behind them, as Thad gets grabbed by a claw and dragged to another room.

Eldritch J creates a hologram of Thad in an attempt to deceive N and Uzi, though it very poorly mimics his behavior and a rather bemused N throws a shuriken at it. Being nothing more than a projection, the shuriken passes through it, and flies up and slices through the wires that bound Thad. After falling to the ground and recovering his senses, he invites N and Uzi to his "shindig", expressly excluding his two times captor, and leaves the scene.

The Promening

In The Promening, Thad is seen dancing and doing one-handed push-ups in the prom, and would try to impress his teacher with his dance moves, albeit failing to do so. When V appeared at the prom, Thad is seen frightened (likely recognizing her as one of the Disassembly Drones who tried to kill him), but later applauded her after Lizzy told him and the other Worker Drones to, though in a significantly more reluctant manner than the others.

Uzi and N then appeared, and when Doll used Absolute Solver to trap V, Thad was thrown away alongside several other Worker Drones. After the doors were unlocked, Thad left the prom off-screen.

Cabin Fever

After the events of the prom, Thad's class goes on a "school trip" to Camp 98.7. When they get off the school bus, he helps Lizzy off before leaving himself. Once all the students are off the bus, N and V take charge of the class (the whole trip being a front for Uzi's investigation and their teacher not caring enough to stop them), and because of their previous encounters with both of them, Thad joins Lizzy at N and V's side, respectively. Only after they join the two Disassembly Drones and they are reminded of Uzi's presence, they follow N and V.

Thad is not seen for the rest of the "school trip", but he somehow manages to survive the carnage and is back on the school bus when what remains of the class rides back to the colony.

Mass Destruction

Thad and Lizzy leave the colony together, as Lizzy tells Thad she has something to show him. When Thad asks Lizzy if her "secret friend" would like to know about football, the area suddenly loses gravity before returning to normal. Then, a ship lands nearby, Lizzy claiming that this was the reason she brought him out here. Lizzy and Thad are prepared to attack, but the spire explodes and the ship ejects.

When they approach the ship, Khan arrives and the area loses gravity once again. J exits the ship, and attempts to contact Tessa, but she gets hit by the bus from Cabin Fever, causing her to lose her keys to the ship. Angered, she points her gun at the bus, and demands to know who the drivers were. Instead, she sees Lizzy and Thad posing ominously in the fog, Thad holding a metal pipe and Lizzy the railgun, whilst Khan is lying smugly on the rooftop of the bus. When J notices the railgun light up, her visor displays a warning sign with the words "PRIOR HAZARD", a throwback to her first death by Uzi in the first episode.

Absolute End

Thad is first seen stuck on the ground where he tries reaching for the railgun after losing his pipe weapon. He is later seen floating in space with Lizzy, Khan and the Red-eyed Sentinel, which lights an explosive causing everyone to panic.

After Khan closes the doors on Cyn to distract her, Thad throws the railgun down for Uzi.

Prompt

Trivia Thad is one of the few Worker Drones who has made friends with a Disassembly Drone, the other two being Uzi and Lizzy. He is the only known male Worker Drone to have hair. Thad was originally planned to have a more prominent role in the series, but his importance decreased over time. Thad appeared in every episode until Home, since the majority of the episode takes place inside a memory that he was not present for. He also wasn't featured in Dead End, which is the second episode he hasn't been in. During GlitchX, when asked where Thad went, Liam Vickers jokingly responded with "He was too powerful." He then went on to explain that Thad became too busy with school and sports to make a reappearance in future episodes. This was in fact, a lie, as Thad made a major appearance in Mass Destruction, and played a bigger role in the following episode.
