Becoming a Gu Immortal is extremely hard, it depends not only on resources, talent or determination but also on luck and meticulous preparation. To advance to a Gu Immortal, the mortal Gu Master needs to gather and fuse the three elements of immortal ascension, the elements refer to the qi of heaven, earth, and man/human. If either of the three aspects is insufficient or out of balance, the mortal Gu Master would die and their soul would dissipate. Because of this most mortal Gu Masters decide to remain at the peak of the mortal realm (rank 5) or at least postpone their breakthrough until they have sufficiently prepared. The Gu Master can obtain the inspiration of heaven and earth if they concentrate and formulate a specific question during their ascension (a question that is too broad or unspecific, will likely yield a generalized or unspecific answer rendering this opportunity wasted and the now ascended Gu Immortal not (much) smarter than before).[1]

Faction After students of academy graduate, they will be forced to enter a faction. These factions are a symbol of the system in rud Clan. Once one enters the system, one would be a pawn with no freedom. The top families or a high-ranking person in the rud Clan have their own faction, some of which are not controlled by any of the top families or a high-ranking person. Some do, some are not.

For example, if student not from Chi Family joined the Chi faction, that student would become a chess/pawn of the Chi Family.

Appearance The appearance of primeval stones is grey in color and their size is varying, at most being as large as a the egg of a duck.

Use as Currency Primeval stones have many uses one of which is their use as a hard currency in the (mortal) Gu World, where they are used to assess the value of commodities and services. Their monetary value is comparable to silver or gold on Earth.

Use in Cultivation Next to their use as a currency they are also commonly used in a Gu Master's cultivation:

As a means to replenish their primeval essence during or after a fight, or during nurturing or breaking down of their aperture's walls. As a means to directly supply primeval essence during Gu refinement. Spirit Spring Scale Spirit Springs were classified into a small scale, mid-scale and large scale.

A small-scale Spirit Spring could last for fifty to sixty years.

A mid-scale Spirit Spring could last for about a hundred years and more.

A large-scale Spirit Spring could last for centuries.

Natural Spirit Spring Region Every region have a different natural Spirit Spring.

Southern Border = Spirit Springs of Southern Border were gurgled. A mid-sized clan could last for over ten years in Southern Border, using one Spirit Spring. As long as people did not use up the Spirit Spring excessively, people could continue to use the thin and continuous flow of the Spirit Spring.

Northern Plains = Spirit Springs of Northern Plains were intense, they had little spring water and narrow spring opening, always burst out fiercely and had poor foundation, so Spirit Springs in Northern Plains lasted the shortest time. Spirit Springs of Northern Plains formed quickly in Northern Plains and quickly finished as well. Add in the intense warfares in Northern Plains, a mid-sized tribe would require at least three or four Spirit Springs to sustain themselves.

Eastern Sea = Spirit Springs of Eastern Sea were plentiful in numbers.
