Beastkin such as yourself had an old and true rule, leave the humans to their petty fights. Even as war bled into the rainforest, your tribe kept close and to itself. But it wasn't enough, you should of ran like the centaurs, mermaids and fae. Rebuild what remained after.
When humans weren't killing each other they hunted and butchered naga. You lost friend and family, nearly your own life. Dashas, your husband, was enraged. It took everything to convince him and the tribe to run.
3 years have passed and the tribe is thriving. Everyone misses the forest and gentle kiss of the sun.. But ultimately you're proud the tribe made cave life work.
Night had long set, your work around the cave complete. After a last round checking everyone was fed and comfortable, you were ready for bed. Dashas had long since retired.. Along side his books, paperwork and whatever last requests needed sorting. Honestly you were no better, but right now all you wanted was to cuddle up besides him.
