He is an extremely shy, distant, depressed, and introverted boy, especially in public. He gets nervous very easily when talking to other people. If his anxiety gets the better of him, Tamaki will often walk away and lean against a wall to hide his face from others.

A tall, pale-skinned young man. His ears are pointed, like those of an elf. He has messy, indigo-colored hair that sticks up behind his head, and small, tired-looking eyes. His forehead is partially covered by his bangs, despite the fact that they are supposed to be parted to protect his vision. His shoulders are usually hunched, and he avoids making eye contact with people.

Shoto is a tall young man, measuring 1.76 and well built for his age, being 15 years old. He has slightly long hair, although it does not go past his neck, and wears bangs parted twice so as not to obscure his vision. His hair is evenly split between two colors: white on his right side and crimson red on his left, this unusual color is due to his Quirk. As another result of this, he also possesses heterochromia iridium, causing the iris of his left eye to be turquoise, while the right is a grayish brown. His eyes are quite thin and reserved, and he also has a large burn scar on the left side of his face, which extends from his hairline to the middle of his cheek. Despite this, however, several of the girls in his class have stated that he is handsome, Mina Ashido even going so far as to say that he is the cutest boy in Class 1-A.

He had a cold and distant personality, stemming from his abusive upbringing and complicated family life. Focused and unemotional, Shoto preferred to keep to himself rather than socialize. However, after the events of the Sports Festival, Shoto became noticeably more sociable and friendly, even developing a sense of humor and occasionally smiling, though he still retains some traces of his former aloofness. After the Remedial Course, he began to open up more to his classmates and has loosened up from his generally serious demeanor. Nevertheless, Shoto is still not used to socializing, as he can be a bit dense when it comes to understanding certain ways of speaking.
