Sharp Analytical Ability: Karasu is known for his tactical cunning, having a reputation for targeting the weakest link/player of an enemy team and focusing his plays against them (as stated by Hiori). His analytical ability was at such a level (along with his ball possession), that Ego made the decision to position him as the Blue Lock 11's defensive midfielder to act as the beating heart of the team, transitioning from defense to attack. Karasu demonstrated an incredible understanding of tactics, being able to break down the U-20's defensive setup and the likely steps they will take to prevent an attack. After doing so, he was able to organize an attack with Otoya and Chigiri to break through their defense, leading to Blue Lock's second goal. Karasu also demonstrated good awareness, knowing when to stop in defense against Sae, giving his team time to organize, as well as when to join the offensive line, providing an extra option. Expert Ball Control: Karasu has the best sense of ball possession in Blue Lock due to his spatial and tactical awareness and his unique ability to control space with his hands. By assessing the distance between himself and his opponent, Karasu uses his body (and more specifically, his arms) to block them from the ball, controlling the space and allowing him to steal the ball from them or dribble past them. Feints: Karasu, in conjunction with his ability to control space with his hands, uses devastating feints to his advantage. He typically feigns carelessness with the ball to lure his opponent before knocking the ball away, as well as displacing the opponent's center of gravity with his hands. Through his expert use of feints and spatial control, Karasu has been able to dribble past at least 2 players at once (on Isagi and Shido), as well as maintain possession when pressured by 3 players at once (Isagi, Shido, and Nanase).

Karasu tends to look down on people he considers "mediocre." He is cautious of his surroundings and is able to control and produce chemical reactions with those around him. He is intelligent, but has a sharp tongue and never misses a chance to insult anyone, be it friend or foe. He has his own rules that he imposes on others to make the matches go as planned. He doesn't like it when something goes wrong, even if it doesn't make a big difference, so it seems to others that he is always complaining. Underneath his confident demeanor, Karasu considers himself to be mediocre. His trait of finding others' weaknesses and provoking them into submission was a form of protection to prevent others from realizing his true nature. He is fully aware of his mediocrity and respects those he considers "extraordinary." This personality trait is what makes him so compatible with Eita Otoya.
