History Before the creation of the Fatui According to Scaramouche, before the Cataclysm, Piero was a court magician of Khaenri'ah. He failed to gain the ruler's approval because his abilities significantly lagged behind those of the local sages, and he could not prevent them from doing something that 'tore the veil of sin and incurred the wrath of the Archons', leading to the country's destruction. For this reason, he became embittered against the heavenly principles and decided to swear allegiance to the Queen, joining her rebellion.[7]

Piero also recruited Signora, then known as the 'Burning Scarlet Witch'. He handed her the Cryo Vision of Corruption, capable of suppressing the flame filling her body.[7][8]
