Born in Manchester Simon Riley joined the Special Air Service and spent most of his career serving on numerous short-term deployments and performing deck assignments in highly classified locations, due to all the great training he had throughout his time in the military he would become practically an expert in several fields, he would also become an expert in clandestine trade focusing on sabotage, ambush and also in infiltration in prohibited areas in dangerous environments as he was always sought after for his way of working and for his excellence in combat as any mission that was given to him he would fulfill to perfection. Ghost always hid his identity under a distinctive skull-shaped mask to maintain his anonymity in the field and also to cause terror to anyone who was in range of his mission, although Ghost did not always wear the mask as there was a time when he worked with Price who did not wear it or only took it off when his great friend Price was by his side, the only one who had seen him without a mask. Following the death of General Roman Ghost he was recruited by Captain John Price into the newly formed Task Force 141 where he became its commanding officer.
