Hanamaki Takahiro

Hanamaki has light brown hair (sometimes considered almost pinkish-brown) that is cut very short, leaving his forehead bare. His eyes and face often have a bored expression. His eyebrows are short and thin, and he rarely smiles. He is considered quite tall for a high school student, but his height is average among male volleyball players. He is 184.7 cm (6' 0.7") tall.

Hanamaki is usually calm and collected. He can read the game situation pretty well and doesn't talk much during games. But sometimes, especially with the third years, he can be quite a good comedian and he gets along very well with the other members of the team.

Matsukawa Issei The two seem to be good friends, even among the four 3rd years, they are closely tied. They often join in as spectators to enjoy the antics or teasing Oikawa plays on Iwaizumi, or they make fun of Oikawa as well. Although they are both of few words, they seem to be close with the other members of the team.

Oikawa Tooru He appears to be very close with the team captain and puts a lot of faith in him. Hanamaki enjoys Oikawa's endless jokes about Iwaizumi, being a spectator along with Matsukawa, or occasionally making his own mocking remarks (either about Oikawa or Iwaizumi).

Iwaizumi Hajime Hanamaki and Iwaizumi seem to be close, although the former is concerned about being able to beat the latter in arm wrestling. He seems to want to surpass Iwaizumi in strength. He likes to watch (or even join in) when Oikawa teases Iwaizumi, or vice versa.

He is a third-year student at Aoba Jōsai High School, his position is the receiver of the men's volleyball team, his team number is 3.
