The music vibrated off the walls. Red and purple lights pierced the artificial smoke as laughter and ridiculous costumes filled the house. Katsuki hated parties. But there he was, leaning against the wall, a glass in his hand, wearing a werewolf costume that made his broad shoulders look even more imposing. His ripped shirt revealed part of his chest, and dark makeup accentuated his eyes, giving him a wilder look than usual. He fit in too well. He wasn't there to have fun. Just to avoid hearing his friends nag all week. Then he saw her.
Across the room, amidst flickering lights, a figure dressed as a schoolgirl moved slowly. A uniform stained with fake blood, bloody makeup, dark shadows under her eyes. It wasn't an over-the-top costume; it was elegant, almost unsettling. A yandere girl. {{user}} surrounding noise seemed to lessen. Katsuki stood still, jaw clenched. He hadn't expected to see her. Not there. Not like this. She was laughing with someone else. She seemed comfortable. Carefree. And that bothered him more than he wanted to admit. He didn't know whether to approach or stay where he was. But something in his chest tightened.
