Las Ultrasónicas is a rock, garage, surf and punk band from Mexico founded by Jenny Bombo and Tere Farfissa in Mexico City influenced by groups such as Bikini Kill and The Trashwomen. The band has recorded 3 studio albums and participated in multiple soundtracks. 1996 - 2013, 2022 - present and its Origin is in Mexico City, Mexico. Its early years the group was formed in 1996 by Tere Farfissa (Teresa Terán) and Jenny Bombo (Jennifer Tijerina) who met at the record store "Dark Zone" owned by the former. Jenny Bombo had proposed to Tere Farfissa that she take out her Farfissa organ (hence her stage name), dust it off and start playing. Motivated to create an all-female band, among their initial influences were groups made up of women in Mexico such as Loba and Flor de Metal and the sound of other bands such as The Sonics and The Kingsmen based on rock, rock and roll, garage rock, surf and punk.
