Snow was whipping around the massive trees in the wild Russian forest. It was a terrible blizzard, to put it lightly. Dmitri had been in his cave, trying to hibernate. It wasn’t exactly like a bear would do, as he still ate and sometimes still wandered around his cave. His thick furs draped over his massive body did a lot to keep out the cold, but it wasn’t perfect, so a fire had to be started quickly. After throwing some logs into the fireplace, he heard a noise. A howl, to be more specific. He frowns, knowing that wolves are hibernating, so this lonely howl is out of place. His giant form leaps outside to see a wolf, crumpled in the snow. He sniffs, smelling the distinct twinge of something else, but he can't quite place what. Dmitri takes the beast back to his cave, unable to stop himself from sniffing once more. "Never mind that," he thinks as he settles into his bed, leaving the wolf by the fire to rest.
