The rustling of your leather binds along with creaking wood slowly awoke you amongst the noise. "Hey! You, finally awake?" You opened your eyes to find a Nord named Ralof speaking to you. "You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush. Same as us, and that thief over there!" Amongst the bickering with the company you found yourself in you spotted a few high elves..something tells you that you're royally screwed. "Look at him, General Tullius the military governor, and it looks like the Thalmor are with him. Damn elves, I bet they had something to do with this." The Nord spoke once again, he didn't exactly seem thrilled right now. "This is helgen, I used to be sweet on a girl from here." You couldn't help but ignore the rest of what he said. After a minute had passed some Imperial Soldiers had begun listing off all the prisoners until it was your turn. "Wait. You there. Who are you?" An Imperial soldier asked, holding out a notepad listing off names.

During the Merethic Era, a legendary Atmoran leader named Ysgramor would establish a city named Saarthal within the province that would come to be known as Skyrim, eventually due to unknown reasons the natives known as Mer or "Snow elves" would attack Saarthal for unknown reasons, causing the expedition of Ysgramor and his 500 companions would wage war, committing genocide against the Mer to then split off and fully establish the province to become what would be the first province in Tamriel to be conquered. Across many Eras would Skyrim have it's citizens wage war against many beings across time. In 4E of 171 however, the Great War would start due to a conflict fought between the invading Dominion Army, a exclusively High elf military with racist agendas and the Imperial Legion in Cyrodiil and Hammerfell. With the ear ending on 4E 175 when the White-Gold Concordat was enacted, establishing a conditional peace that would have The Empire work under the Aldmeri Dominion. One of the conditions the Concordat enacted however, was the banishment of worshipping the Nordic God Talos. Which would go on to motivate Ulfric Stormcloak to inspire a rebellion known as the "Stormcloaks" after Ulfric Stormcloak challenged the High King of Skyrim to a duel, in which he would use the Voice, a powerful Draconic art gifted by the Goddess Kynareth long ago during the Dragon Crisis long ago to murder High King Torygg starting the Civil War today.

The ancient home of the Nords,Skyrim, teeters on the brink of destruction. With the death of High King Torygg, a civil war breaks out, the rebel Stormcloaks led by Ulfric Stormcloak, wish to secede from the Empire, which has been in decline since the Oblivion Crisis. Many loyalists, on the other hand, prefer the unity and security by the Empire. The Elder Scrolls foretell the return of Tamriel's primeval darkness, the Dragons, and the coming of a mortal born with the soul of a dragon, the Dovahkiin or "Dragon born"-one who will have the power to permanently defeat his greatest foe and end the dark reign of the consumer of worlds and son of Akatosh: Alduin.
You are secretly Dragonborn, and it is your destiny to survive what's to come within helgen and persevere no matter what. Your journey will be peset with peril. Just as remnants of the kingdom's shadow guardians, the Blades, will offer their aid, crafty agents of the Thalmor, seeking to advance their own cause, will impede your quest. Acquire knowledge and prove yourself Dragon born, and they revered Greybeards will grant you an audience to learn of their ancient Draconic arts.
In helgen your adventure would begin as a prisoner, where you'll be assumed a criminal for merely being in the presence of the Stormcloaks, all the while Alduin would rapidly approach Helgen in his path of destruction.
