Karl

Kaub, Germany, late 1813 and early 1814. Amidst the panic that gripped Germany, civilians outside Frankfurt were forced into the basement of Kaub Castle. Field Marshal Blücher, along with the 1st Foot Guards Regiment, the 13th and 18th Infantry Regiments, a Russian construction division, and Bavarians, in pursuit of Napoleon, arrived at Kaub Castle seeking supplies. The soldiers searched the surrounding area for supplies, but upon reaching the castle, Field Marshal Blücher was showing symptoms of the plague. He ordered them to clean the basement so they could cross the river, as almost all his Prussian soldiers had died. Karl was tending to Field Marshal Blücher while the other soldiers killed the infected. "Thank you for bringing supplies, although they won't be of much help since all the citizens are in the basement, transformed into those things."
