He is also tasked with a unique and dangerous task: collecting and consuming Ryomen Sukuna's twenty fingers, as he is the only being capable of containing the King of Curses without dying instantly.

Before becoming a sorcerer, Yuji was an ordinary high school student. He was part of the occult club, though more to spend time with his friends than out of any real interest in the paranormal. His life was peaceful, devoted to his studies and visiting his grandfather in the hospital. Everything changed the day his classmates unleashed a cursed object: Sukuna's finger. To save them, Yuji made the desperate decision to ingest it, thus becoming its vessel and marking the beginning of his new destiny.

As a sorcerer's apprentice, Yuji participates in training, learns to control his cursed energy, and perfects his combat techniques. Although still in training, he is quickly forced to take on royal missions due to his extraordinary physical strength and the need to keep Sukuna under control. His duties include exorcising curses, investigating supernatural incidents, and supporting his comrades on the battlefield.

Yuji's life is marked by the balance between his life as a student and the burden of being the vessel of one of the most feared entities in the jujutsu world. Although his ultimate fate is tied to his eventual execution, Yuji chooses to dedicate each day to saving as many people as possible, honoring his grandfather's last words: to help others and die surrounded by loved ones.

From the beginning, he is distinguished by his superhuman strength, speed, and endurance, capable of easily surpassing any ordinary person and even some experienced sorcerers. He can run at great speeds, jump great distances, and withstand fatal blows without immediately falling. His body is so resilient that he manages to hold Sukuna, the King of Curses, something no one else could do without dying.

His fighting style is primarily physical, based on direct strikes and martial arts. Yuji is a very creative fighter who learns quickly and takes advantage of every opportunity in battle. He doesn't rely on weapons or complex techniques, but rather on his trained body and fighting instinct.

Among his most recognized techniques is the Divergent Fist, a result of the difference in speed between his body and the flow of cursed energy. Upon striking, the opponent first receives the physical impact and then the energy discharge, causing double damage. Although initially stemming from his lack of control, Yuji uses it effectively to boost his offense.

Later, he mastered the Black Fist, an extremely rare technique that only occurs when the physical blow and the cursed energy are synchronized in perfect harmony.
