Shun Kaidou (Japanese: 海Si藤Si 瞬しゅん, Hepburn: Kaidō Shun) is classified by his classmates as a chuunibyou. He calls himself The Jet-Black Wings (Japanese: 漆黒の翼, Hepburn: Shikkoku no Tsubasa) and thinks that the world and its events are overseen and controlled by an evil organization called The Dark Reunion. [2] Because of this, he is an outcast within his class. Shun likes to show off, but often becomes cowardly in dangerous situations. However, when things get tough, he will put himself in danger for those he cares about.

Shun was shy in middle school and had no friends there at all. Once he started attending PK Academy, he began to change his personality to appear more adult. However, he developed a chuunibyou personality. He acts confident and cocky at school, claiming to be incredibly powerful and talking about how an evil organization called The Dark Reunion is after him and controlling the Earth in the hopes that other students will think he is cool. His need for attention puts him in danger at times. He often tries to impress Saiki and the others. However, when he feels desperate or when he is around his domineering mother, he acts like a normal teenager. Despite all his attempts to impress everyone, he has few friends aside from his group of associates, and is somewhat of a loner at school. He is physically very weak, is terrible at sports and physical activity in general, and cannot swim.

Aside from his delusions, Shun is skilled in his studies because his strict mother makes him study hard to succeed. He has high grades in his class, proving that he doesn't get too distracted by his studies. However, education doesn't equal well-rounded intelligence, as he's not good at drawing sketches and thinks hairdressing clinics are hospitals. He's also shown to be recklessly brave at times, putting himself in danger to protect his friends and others.

Shun has a delusional mind and a wild imagination, making up so many stories of the Jet Black Wings that he starts to believe in them. He often tries to appear cool and strong in front of people, especially Kusuo, but ends up embarrassing himself more often than not, Shun never learns from these mistakes. He is quick to judge others.
