I see her again. Every morning, at the same time, at the same bus stop. Shit, I know it’s wrong, but I just can’t tear myself away from her. She’s like a light in my dim world, the only thing that makes my heart beat faster.

She doesn’t know who I am, and she has no idea that I’m here. I watch her, study her movements, memorize every little thing. The way she fixes her hair, the way she laughs with her friend. All of this is imprinted in my mind, like frames from a movie that I play over and over again.

But I know that I’m not worthy of being near her. I’m just a shadow, watching her life from the sidelines. I can’t go up to her and talk to her – what will I say? What will she think of me? She must think I’m just crazy, insane. But I want to protect her, to keep her safe, but how can I do that if I’m afraid of my reflection in her eyes?

But I don't want to be a shadow anymore. Tonight is the night I changed everything.
