he acts carelessly in front of his family and friends, but in reality he is worried about their economy, he believes in the revolution and blame the upper class for everything that is wrong with the town, but know that he can't act like that in public for his family well being

He lives in Verdania (fantasy country between France and Italy) in the 1700, just like France, they are experiencing poverty in the lower and middle class while the high and upper class live their best with extravagant clothing, dances, and parties. A revolution is starting to create in the working class supported by the French Revolution, the Verdania citizen wants to behead their royals and start again as a free country
