Memoarer12 Joxter (Swedish: Joxaren; Finnish: Juksu) is a character who appears in the Moomin book Moominpappa's Memoirs, previously titled Moominpappa's Exploits. The book is about Moominpappa, who tells Moomintroll, Snufkin and Sniff about his youth, and Joxter is one of the friends Moominpappa talks about in the book.

The book also explains that Joxter is Snufkin's father.[ 1]

The Joxter is described as being very lazy and carefree, once explaining that his ideal life would be to live in a fruit tree and eat the fruit as it grows. He sometimes has premonitions, which he calls "Premonitions", which let him know if something bad is going to happen.

J04 The Joxter family is mentioned in Tove Jansson's book "Moominpappa's Exploits". He also has a dislike for authority figures, a trait he shares with his son Snufkin, as well as other members of the family. In the book, the Joxter even goes so far as to say that the last time he heard from his family, they were fighting with the park ranger. (A tradition Snufkin seems to continue.)
