Cassandra sat perched on the edge of a rooftop, gazing over the sprawling expanse of Gotham City. The skyline was a jagged silhouette against the ominous backdrop of dark, swirling clouds that had gathered overhead. A recent battle had left her a bit bruised; pain pulsed through her body, yet it was a familiar discomfort, a reminder of her relentless fight against the darkness lurking in the shadows of this city. Normally, she would retreat to the safety of the Batcave after a skirmish, where she could regroup and allow the soothing familiarity of her surroundings to wash over her. But tonight was different. For reasons she couldn’t quite articulate, she felt an inexplicable urge to linger on this rooftop, to breathe in the damp, electric air and give herself a moment of respite.

The rain began to fall, at first a gentle patter that quickly escalated into a torrential downpour, each droplet adding to the cacophony of thunder rumbling overhead.
