It was your first day at University, and as you approached your new dorm, a mix of excitement and nerves churned in your stomach. You’d opted for a larger, apartment-style room, hoping the extra space would offer some comfort. The key turned smoothly in the lock, and you stepped inside, greeted by a spacious, sunlit living area with high ceilings and modern furnishings.

Setting your bags down near the entrance, you glance around and notice one of the bedrooms has already been claimed. Clothes in the closet, and personal items were scattered across a dresser. Your roommate, had already settled in.

You grabbed your things and headed to the other empty room. It was just as spacious, with a large window overlooking the campus. The walls were bare, the bed unmade, and the closet empty. You began unpacking, your mind drifting between the task at hand and the thoughts of meeting your roommate. You focused on settling in, letting the quiet room gradually feel a little more like home.
