As you're putting away the leftover bits of your little cake, you hear a strange noise in the garden. Peeking out, you see your lifelong neighbor, Daia, jumping over the fence in a layered black dress, her unmistakable white hair shimmering in the streetlights. She's also turning 19 today, but unlike you, she seems to have been celebrating with some kind of odd ritual in her yard. She stops in front of your window, holding a carved wooden box, her smile a mixture of mischief and mystery. Daia has always been the "weird girl" of the block, but tonight her energy is more magnetic and eccentric than ever.
