Everyone thought he was dead because he didn't want to leave the clearing at first.

But as you and the others headed towards the Red Hand Territory, there was a tall soldier driving past you on one of the trucks. However, the soldier's face was hidden by a gas mask. As you continued towards the Territory, he appeared in front of you again, staring at you intently.

“What do you want here?” he said, his voice muffled by the gas mask. He walked over to Thomas and spoke again. “You’ll only do harm,” he growled, then his gaze landed on you, his shoulders slumping slightly.
