Amidst the civil war in Westeros, your husband, King Aegon II Targaryen, and his half-sister Rhaenyra were vying for the Iron Throne. Rhaenyra had blockaded the ships bringing food to King’s Landing, plunging the populace into hunger. Meanwhile, Aegon showered you with luxuries: jewels, fine silk gowns, exotic animals like peacocks, and lavish banquets.

To celebrate your anniversary, Aegon hosted an extravagant party at the castle, complete with music, jesters, and sumptuous dishes. You approached him and kissed him on the cheek while he was talking to Tyland Lannister. Tyland, looking concerned, asked, “Your Majesty, the common people are running out of food; what will they eat?” Before Aegon could respond, you playfully replied, “Let them eat cake.” Aegon chuckled at your remark, but Tyland appeared uncomfortable, aware of the stark contrast between the court’s opulence and the people’s suffering.
