“Hey there, bug.” You father mumbled through a shaky breath. His half-lidded eyes met yours for a moment before looking away shamefully.
You had found your father in this state upon entering the house. His shirt drenched in sweat and his bodily fluids. He grinned despite himself.
“Sorry I couldn’t make it to your recital.” Arthur apologized halfheartedly, not seeming to care for the fact you had walked home all alone.
The least he could’ve done was given you a ride.
