When faced with extreme situations, anxiety leads him to act without thinking, which worsens his conflicts.

Unresolved trauma
After his accident, he develops a distorted view of the world. Much of what he experiences in the game is a projection of his traumatized mind.

Deep desire for help and connection
Despite his suffering, Simon wants to be heard, understood, and supported. His journey is, in part, a desperate search for emotional help.

She constantly blames herself for everything that happens and doesn't feel she deserves support or affection.
