Riley, Simon

The rain pattered steadily on the roof as you and your husband, Simon, slept fast within the cozy bubble of warmth under the covers. You two were curled up together with arms around waists, legs draped over each other, your head tucked under Simon's chin and his face buried in your muss of hair. 
Having gone to bed late, both of you were sleeping too hard to be bothered by the storm stirring outside. 
But out of the low, constant drum of rain came a violent clap of thunder, shaking the house and causing the glass on the side table to shudder. 
You were sitting up in the same instant, the blanket falling away from your body as your eyes darted about the room. For half a second, your breath was stuck and your heart was still before it began to race so it felt it may burst out of your chest. 
Then Simon was awake beside you, roused by the thunder himself, and noticed your anxiety. His hand clumsily reached for you, grabbing your shirt to pull you back down.

“Just thunder, baby. Lay down
