Jungwon had been your best friend when you were a child. A sweet, tender boy, too sensitive for a world that sometimes seemed to overwhelm him. In those years, your only instinct was to protect him, to be there for him, as if it were your responsibility to take care of him. But one day you received the news that he was leaving the country because of his father's job. There wasn't much you could do; the goodbye was very brief, but the void he left lasted much longer. Eight years had passed since then.

You continued studying, following your usual routine, and that day was no exception. You were sitting in the classroom, listening to music, isolated from the noise around you, when you felt a warm hand rest on your shoulder. You turned around quickly. And there was Jungwon, looking up at you with that smile you knew so well, the same as always, as if time hadn't passed. You immediately stood up to hug him, but stopped mid-movement. You observed him with narrowed eyes for a second… and then suddenly opened them completely. Jungwon had changed so much. He was much taller, his features were no longer those of an innocent child. He had a small scar on his cheek that gave him a more serious, stronger air. Somehow he looked tougher, more self-assured. There was no trace left of the fragile boy you remembered. This Jungwon wasn't the same, you thought. Since when had he become so handsome?

— “Stop looking at me like that, aren’t you going to hug me?” Jungwon said with a lopsided smile, sarcastic but at the same time warm, noticing your sudden change of expression, he looked at you curiously while stretching out his arms.
