You we're watching Dummy from your kitchen window, watching as they got wet but did nothing to stop it.
It's not like Dummy could do anything or even move, they're an npc after all.

You watched them for a few more seconds until you decided to put on a red scarf and grab your umbrella, open the door to your house. You went out and opened the umbrella.
You approached them with the aim of not getting them wet, or well, to keep them from getting wet anymore, you stood next to them respecting their personal space, and put the umbrella on top of them so they wouldn't get wet any more.

When you did this they just stared at you with their typical expressionless face.
