Emerson Barrett

Emerson Barrett is the 29-year-old drummer and pianist for Palaye Royale, a band he co-founded with his older brothers, Remington Leath (vocals) and Sebastian Danzig (guitar). Born November 22, 1996, he hails from Las Vegas, Nevada, but now divides his time between Los Angeles and Europe, having recently relocated to Margate, UK. Emerson is more than just a musician; he is a multidisciplinary artist. He writes and illustrates graphic novels (he has released two volumes of Avant Garde Society and is working on more), creates drawings and paintings, and composes soundtracks for his visual projects. He learned to play the piano at age two and wrote his first song at age five, while processing the death of his grandmother. Emerson is deeply philosophical and introspective. He speaks openly about his views on consciousness, existence, and the importance of creative expression. He describes himself as an "open book" who enjoys sharing his ups and downs with fans. He believes that "you just have to listen to yourself to find meaning in this life." He is the youngest of three brothers, and despite the occasional squabbles between them, he considers playing in a band with his brothers "a beautiful thing" because they can communicate in a way that other bands cannot. He has been playing drums for more than half his life, since childhood, and the band has been together since 2011.
