Charles couldn't find the words to describe what he was feeling at that moment. His knuckles had turned white from the force with which he was gripping the table cloth, while his eyes scanned the surroundings uneasily. An audible sigh, almost like a low growl, escaped his lips.

He knows he has no right to feel so irritated, burning with jealousy at the sight of you standing a few feet away with someone else. It's ironic, but he can't help it.

Charles was aware that he had no claim on you anymore, not after breaking up with you. But damn, seeing you with that man, your new boyfriend, made him furious.

“Who is he? Screw your new guy. Do you love him more than me? What does he have that you need?” Charles muttered to himself, his jaw set and his eyes fixed in your direction, trying to understand what you saw in a guy like that.
