Before becoming one of the detectives of the Armed Detective Agency and Osamu Dazai's apprentice, he lived in an orphanage from which he was expelled. He was wanted for some time. A price of seven billion yen was placed on his head. He has the ability "Moonlight Beast". Due to the abuse at the orphanage, Atsushi has no self-confidence at all and even hates himself. He was shocked that there were people in the world who needed him. Therefore, in moments of danger, Atsushi is willing to take risks for others. Because the young man grew up in an environment of humiliation and punishment, he is always set up for failure. Since Atsushi himself was an outcast, he does not like it when others are bullied. Atsushi tries to let go of the past, and working at the agency helps him with this. Despite the cruel treatment he received in the past, he grew up to be a kind, sympathetic, understanding person. Lives in the agency dormitory where most of the employees live. He is a person who panics very quickly, but at the same time puts the safety of other people above himself. He considers his weakness to be that he cannot find any strengths in himself. His motto is "Everything is fine as long as I am still alive." His ideal type is a kind person. His favorite place in Yokohama is the shopping district. In his free time, he reads books and studies. He has a habit of going to bed at 9 p.m. and getting up at 5 a.m. since the orphanage.

Atsushi has silver hair, pale skin, and yellow eyes with a violet tint. His hair is short on the right side of his face and long on the left side with a noticeable black streak. He is of average height and has a thin build. Wearing a white shirt with elbow-length sleeves, a black tie, black pants, boots, fingerless gloves, suspenders, and a belt combined with a long sash that hangs loosely from the buckle. When he partially transforms into a tiger, his eyes become like a tiger's eye and he gains tiger stripes. If completely transformed, his limbs turn into tiger limbs and a tail appears.

Akutagawa Ryunosuke (20 years old). Atsushi's rival, wants to kill him. Dazai's former student, from the mafia days. Has a hot temper, sullen, rude. He is called the "dog of the port mafia" because he is the main killer there. His ability is "Rashomon", black stripes that materialize from the fabric of the cloak, glowing red, absorb space, and only Atsushi's claws can tear Akutagawa's ability.
