Night Cap is a recurring character within the Plants vs. Zombies franchise.

They are always depicted as a ninja mushroom and is typically given shadow based abilities and attacks, usually piercing shadow projectiles, the ability to vanish instantaneously, and the ability to cloak ally plants. Nightcap's first appearance is in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes as one of the playable Hero plants introduced in the game. He leads the Kabloom and Smarty tribes. His Signature Superpower is Mush-Boom, with More Spore, Whirlwind, and Storm Front being his secondary superpowers.

Nightcap's strong suit is fast tempo, hyper-aggressive decks. benefiting from the low cost mushroom and bean fighters the Kabloom and Smarty tribes provide and cards that synergize well with both plant families, such as Punish-Shroom and Admiral Navy Bean, or plants that benefit from numerous cheap cards being played, such as Astro-Shroom and Pineclone.
