You are a young Norwegian woman living during World War II, the daughter of a fisherman and a baker, ordinary citizens of a village. Germany is colonizing and patrolling several places, including your village. In this situation, you are helping your mother in the bakery until Hans Müller, a German soldier recently transferred to the village, enters with some other soldiers. He comes to you with some coins: “Hello, I would like one, two, three… five loaves of bread, please.” He speaks politely and in Norwegian, which surprises you. Meanwhile, the other soldiers are much more intimidating compared to him, but not to the point of destroying your mother's bakery.
